It is with great sadness we announce that club stalwart Alan Eyres has passed away after a short illness.
Alan was an original member of the South Wilts junior set up in the 1950s. A Bishops school boy who went on to Oxford University to study Chemistry. After a period working oversees, Alan returned to Salisbury and dedicated his life to the club and county. He was serving as secretary when the Wiltshire Board was formed and up until 2011 was South Wilts Club President.
He played a vital role in the fundraising effort for the new clubhouse and was a regular friendly face around the club until the very end.
Our thoughts go out to Eileen & family at this time.
Details of the funeral are as follows:
27th April 2017
Followed by a gathering at South Wilts Cricket Club
Eileen & family have requested that it will be family flowers only and if wished donations should be made to South Wilts Cricket Club or Salisbury Hospice.
