The 4th XI visited Amport 2nd XI on Saturday, after winning the toss captain Matt Anderson-Emm decided to bat first on what was a good wicket.
Young Max Allen was the main stay of the South Wilts innings with 54 opening the batting. Useful contributions from Ben Higton (26) and Max’s older brother Brett Allen (22) along with 38 extras finished the innings on 189/9 (all out)
A good opening partnership from Amport got the nerves going for the young South Wilts side. However the introduction of Paul Wylie changed the game completely. Paul took 6 wickets in his 10 overs conceded 32 runs which saw the Amport innings collapse.
Only Sam Goacher made anything of the run chase making 50 before being bowled in the final over by captain Anderson-Emm. Amport finishing 184 all out, giving the 4th XI a 5 run win.
