South Wilts Under 15s continued their unbeaten run in the Wiltshire Youth League with an emphatic 75 run win over Swindon.
Batting first on another excellent home wicket, Max Allen and George Milton made a slow but sure start.
After reaching the first drinks break without loss, the pair went to post a century opening partnership before Milton edged behind for 38. Allen suddenly stepped up a gear and blazed the ball to all parts. A huge pair of sixes and a series of terrific straight drives looked to have set him on his way to a maiden century before he gloved a sweep shot to be deprived of a much deserved landmark. His 96 included 12 fours and two sixes.
Adam Young, George Edwards and skipper Chris Chaddock kept the run rate going. Young fell on 46 but Jayden Atkinson hit three of his only 8 balls faced for sixes. Atkinson 22no and Chaddock 19no closed the innings on 252-4 off 40 overs.
Swindon lost early wickets as Atkinson and Chaddock struck to reduce them to 37-4. However, they recovered well as Louis Weaver (52) struck a lusty half century.
U13 spinners Will Langdown and James Brewer bowled well in tandem and it was Brewer (1-29) who removed Weaver.
Archie Attwell (39) and Jodh Chahal (28no) played the game out closing on 177-8. Atkinson finished with 4-32 and Chaddock 2-11 with a wicket also for Ed Nash (1-19).
