JACK PICKS UP SOCIETY AWARD

South Wilts' teenager Jack Mynott has been named the Cricket Society’s Leading Schools All-Rounder 2011.

Jack, who played for the Southern Electric Premier League Under-21 side against the Isle of Wight last August, has played for Dauntsey’s 1st XI since the age of 14 and it is believed was the youngest player to score a 1st XI century at the School back in June 2009.

Last season Jack scored 1,090 runs at an average of 64.12 per innings with 5 centuries and a top score of 145. He took 38 wickets at an average of 14.42 and an economy rate of 3.36 per over. His best bowling performance was 4 wickets for 8 runs.

The Award will be presented to Jack at the Cricket Society’s Spring Dinner in St James’s,
London on Friday 13th April 2012. The award consists of an individual plaque for Jack to keep and a cheque. His name will also be inscribed on the Wetherell Trophy which resides in the Lord’s Museum.

This is a great tribute to Jack’s cricket and he is in very good company with England players such as Chris Cowdrey, Derek Pringle and Richard Ellison as previous recipients of this prestigious award, along with Dauntsey’s newly appointed Cricket Coach, Jon Ayling who also won the award in 1985 whilst he was a pupil at Portsmouth Grammar School.
