1st XI vs Burridge 1st XI

Cape Town run gun Mat Goles is back in the runs as Burridge put a stuttering start to heir ECB Southern Premier League championship defence with a crushing 184-run defeat of South Wilts at Bemerton.
He made 102, underpinning a towering Burridge total of 295-5. South Wilts were dIsmissed for a dismal 101, Ben White taking 4-20.
Goles, who topped the SPL batting charts last season, batting almost the entire length of the Burridge innings, his century containing a six and 11 fours.
The score was 87 before Tom Grant and Rob Pittman achieved a double breakthrough by dismissing Jack Paskins (47) and Joe Collings-Wells, but Burridge ploughed on with Draper using seven different bowlers in a unsuccessful bid to stem the run tide.
Oli Southon lashed 50 off 40 balls to put the 2023 champions in an unassailable position.
South Wilts, who led the Premier Division table overnight, made a sound enough start and were 39 without loss (James Degg 21) before a collapse set in.
They lost four wickets for 15 runs - Ben White (4-20) doing the damage - and another when three fell for five runs at 76-5.
