On Friday, 27th June, we held our annual South Wilts Golf Day and concluded our recent fundraising auction. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, the volunteers who help keep the club running every day, and all those who bid, bought raffle tickets, and supported us in countless ways.
A huge thank you to our sponsors for their vital contributions:
D&N Maintenance, Kingspan, Artech Air, St Austell Brewery, KS Plastering Services, Foxes, Fawcetts, Total Pest Control, MAE Electrical Services. Your support means the world to us.
This year, the focus was on raising much-needed funds to secure the longevity of South Wilts Cricket Club, reintroducing women's cricket, and replacing essential equipment. Additionally, we aim to continue our efforts in reaching out to the community, encouraging youngsters from all backgrounds to take up the game.
The weather was perfect for a day of golf at the beautiful Bramshaw Manor Golf Course, which was an excellent host. From delicious rolls on arrival to a superb lunch and staff ensuring everyone stayed hydrated, Bramshaw truly made the day special. The course was in fantastic condition, and despite the recent dry spell, it provided a fair and enjoyable challenge for all.
We had a wonderful day, with plenty of action on the course and some fantastic winners:

The "Propping Up the Field" award went to the Lofty Legends, with the prize presented to Bruce Scottison.
Early estimates show that the event, along with the online auction and raffle, has raised over £2,500, which is an outstanding achievement. This will play a crucial role in supporting the ongoing development of the club and its initiatives.
Looking ahead, we hope to organise a similar event next year, so stay tuned if you want to get involved, support, or simply help out. If you'd like to join the club, sponsor a project, or contribute in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We're also open to partnerships with local businesses to further raise the profile of cricket and our club within the community.
As we head into the second half of the season, let’s hope for good weather and continued success on and off the field. Thank you again to everyone who made this day possible – your support truly makes a difference.
Keep the faith!
