3rd XI enjoyed one of their most complete performances of the season as they overwhelmed Amesbury by 176 runs at the Academy Ground.
Asked to bat first after losing the toss, South Wilts recovered from an early wicket thanks to a magnificent century from Max Cordle. Playing with confidence throughout, Cordle struck 116 from just 97 balls, including 16 fours and two sixes, anchoring the innings superbly.
He received useful support from Rob Pittman (18), Ollie Wright (13) and Jonas Ball (16), before George Nash accelerated brilliantly with an explosive 57 from only 32 deliveries. Any hopes of an Amesbury fightback were quickly extinguished by a ruthless bowling display led by George Nash. The all-rounder followed his half-century with a devastating spell of 6-34, tearing through the visitors' batting after Charlie Allom had removed Malla Sumit and Asher Osborn had applied early pressure.
Only Sumit (23) and Ben Tooke (21) reached 20 as wickets fell at regular intervals. Jody Everett wrapped up the innings with three late wickets to finish with 3-39, leaving Amesbury all out for 131 inside 24 overs.

South Wilts 4th XI were edged out by just two runs in a thrilling high-scoring encounter against Broadchalke, despite a superb century from Freddie Jones.
Having been asked to bat first, South Wilts built an excellent platform through father and son duo Miles and Freddie Jones. The pair shared a superb opening partnership of 155 before Miles was dismissed for a well-crafted 48.
Freddie Jones then took centre stage with a sensational 139 from just 92 deliveries, an innings featuring 18 fours and three sixes. Defending a challenging total, the visitors made the perfect start as Jake Redding ripped through Broadchalke's top order. His four wickets reduced the hosts to 19-3 and firmly handed the initiative to South Wilts.
However, Broadchalke opener Thomas Moseley produced an outstanding unbeaten 112 to wrestle the momentum back. His partnership with M. Shaik (40) rebuilt the innings before Dan Down's brisk 35 kept the chase on course.
South Wilts continued to fight, with Jacob Nash claiming a wicket, Naimur Rahman removing Henry Thorne and Jasper Blackwood producing an important run out, while Redding returned to finish with impressive figures of 4-59.

Although the result went against South Wilts, there were plenty of positives to take from an entertaining contest, not least Freddie Jones' outstanding 139 and Redding's four-wicket haul, performances that deserved to be on the winning side.
